Jonathan brings a well-rounded and highly practical skill set to the planning and delivery of retail projects, with a genuine passion for optimising tenancy mixes, project leasing, and retail planning. His experience working on both the landlord and retailer side enables him to approach negotiations with a balanced, commercially focused perspective that drives positive, tailored outcomes for his clients.
Jonathan joined Retail Solutions in April 2016 after 12 years leasing for Westfield NZ and AMP Capital Shopping Centres, where he built strong relationships with many of Australasia’s leading retail brands. Prior to moving into property, Jonathan held buying and sales roles with Farmers, Levi Strauss & Co. and Hallensteins, giving him valuable firsthand insight into retail operations and performance drivers.
His recent project experience includes Tauranga Crossing Shopping Centre and Coast Plaza, alongside retail shopping centre projects completed nationwide across Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington and Christchurch.
Having worked on the majority of shopping centres throughout New Zealand, Jonathan has a strong understanding of landlord strategies and how to effectively align these with tenant objectives. His retail background ensures he remains grounded in the fundamentals of trading performance while structuring property transactions that support long-term success.
